November 29-30 2008. Carolina Speedway, Puerto Rico I have to begin by giving a Big Thank You to all of the people who put this very successful event together, especially to Javier, Lucy and Christobal.
I was honored to be invited and honored to be able to participate in front of the 15,000 to 20,000 fans a day who attended Saturday and Sunday. The place was packed with both fans and the many local PR race cars who attempted to qualify and just to race for bragging rights. It was a blast! As with any new event, especially the magnitude and logistics involved, there were a few glitches and lessons were learned to make the next event even better. There is no doubt in my mind now that the Puerto Rican's love their drag racing and I would venture to say that at least 80% of them are Rotary crazy.
